Step by step

From first call to a fresh start

No surprises, and nothing is filed until you say so.

  1. 01

Step 1: You call, text or write

Tell us what is going on in a few lines. Brigitte or Catalina answers.

  2. 02

    Step 2: The first conversation

What you owe, what you earn, what you own, and what is coming up in the mail or in court.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Papers, together

You bring your documents. The office prepares the petition and goes through every page with you.

  4. 04

    Step 4: We file

Once you sign and the filing fee is paid, the case goes to the court and creditors are told.

  5. 05

    Step 5: The trustee meeting

A short call or video meeting. Brigitte is with you and does most of the talking.

  6. 06

    Step 6: The case closes

The court issues its discharge, and the debts it covers are gone.

Before the meeting

What to bring, even in a shoebox

Do not worry about sorting it. A shoebox is fine; Catalina will go through it with you.

  • Pay stubs from the last six months

  • The last two years of tax returns

  • A letter or statement for every debt

  • Bank statements

  • Anything with a court date on it
