Manchester bankruptcy lawyer

Enough. Tell us what you owe.

I'm Brigitte Archambault. Leave your name and a way to reach you, and I'll call to say whether bankruptcy fits your situation or something else does. The first call costs nothing.

Please leave out account numbers, Social Security numbers and court papers. A name and a way to reach you is enough to start.

  • The first call is free
  • Call or text, your choice
  • Se habla español

If you hire the firm, our fee and the court's filing fee are quoted in writing before you pay anything, and the costs are yours to approve.

Come in

One office, one lawyer, one phone

Calls and texts are answered by Brigitte or Catalina, never a call center. Walk in during office hours or ask for a time.

Which of these is your week?

  • The phone will not stop

Calls at work, letters every few days, a voicemail you are afraid to play.

    Chapter 7
  • The paycheck is shrinking

A garnishment is taking a slice before you ever see the money.

    Wage garnishment
  • Behind on the house or the car

You can still pay, if the back payments are not due all at once.

    Chapter 13
  • Court papers with your name on them

A lawsuit has deadlines. Bring it in before the date on it.

    How it works

What happens next

A call, a list, a plan

You will hear from the office by phone or text, whichever you picked. We ask what you owe, what comes in each month and what you own.

Then Brigitte says plainly whether Chapter 7, Chapter 13 or neither fits, before you pay or sign anything.

Fees

The fee plan, in writing

Most cases are a flat attorney fee. You get the number in writing after the first call, never at the end.

  • Chapter 7, a flat fee

For people who qualify by income and want debts the law allows wiped out. Every debt and asset reviewed, the petition filed, and your meeting with the trustee.

  • Chapter 13, paid in your plan

For people behind on a home or car, or over the Chapter 7 limit. Most of the fee is paid through the plan, not up front.

  • Pay over time

A Chapter 7 fee can be split into monthly payments before we file, in one written agreement with no interest added. We file once it's paid.

Court filing fees, credit counseling and debtor education courses are paid to the court and those providers, on top of our fee. Brigitte quotes your total in writing after the first call.

Heard from clients

“I had stopped opening the mail. Brigitte sat down with me and made one pile out of six.”

Lazaro M.Chapter 7 client

“Catalina explained every page to me in Spanish, and nobody made me feel small for asking twice.”

Hermelinda R.Chapter 13 client

“The garnishment letter came on a Monday. By the end of the week I knew what my options were.”

Asa K.Garnishment client

Each client's case is different. These are sample comments, and what happened for one person says nothing about your case.

Before you ask

Will I lose my house or my car?

Not automatically. Chapter 7 checks what you own against exemptions the law sets, and many people keep their home and car. Chapter 13 lets you keep property by catching up through a plan. Brigitte tells you what applies to you before you file.

Do all my debts go away?

No. Many credit card, medical and personal loan debts can be wiped out. Child support, most student loans, recent taxes and some court fines usually stay.

Can you stop the collection calls?

Once a bankruptcy case is filed, the law generally requires creditors to stop collecting. Before that, the office can tell a collector in writing that you have a lawyer and should be contacted through us.

Do I need to speak English?

No. Brigitte and Catalina both speak Spanish. The court papers are in English, and we go through each page with you in Spanish before you sign.

What does the first call cover?

What you owe, who you owe it to, what comes in each month and what you own. Then a plain answer on whether bankruptcy fits. It costs nothing.
